I utilize both play and expressive art modalities during all children sessions to help my clients communicate and process their emotions in a format that is age appropriate. Because I know how important your role is in your child's life, regular caregiver consultations are an essential part of child therapy services.
- Adlerian play therapy: is a therapeutic approach to working with children that acknowledges the importance of the social structure in your child's life. This social structure is comprised of you, their other caretakers, and their sense of belonging with their peers. In using this approach, your child will grow in their awareness of their emotions, learn more productive ways to communicate them, and become more encouraged in their ability to meet their own needs in adaptive ways.
- Synergetic play therapy: focuses on skills for understanding and regulating one's nervous system which goes hand-in-hand with higher anxiety and more aggressive and reactive kiddos.
- Sandtray therapy: generally involves more directive prompts, while allowing your child the autonomy to share their perspective of the world they've created within their tray. This is an adjunct to play sessions.
