Adult Individual Therapy

A person walks alone on a foggy pier towards distant mountains under a cloudy sky.

A treatment plan catered to your specific needs

I don't believe in a "one-size-fits-all" approach to most things, and certainly not when it comes to something as personal as therapy. My goal is to always meet you where you are at, which is why I am trained in several evidenced-based approaches:

  • Cognitive- Behavioral Therapy: involves a more solution-focused approach to jump into understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected. Together, we will work on identifying current, unhelpful, thought patterns, deconstruct them, and adapt them to better align with your personal values to help you experience a more fulfilling life..
  • Adlerian Therapy: also known as Individual Psychology, allows us to better understand your social structure, how past experiences may be presently affecting you, and give us direction in identifying new ways of responding to your personal goals. It emphasizes the importance of community, and that very human need for social connection, while also acknowledging the power that you hold within yourself to self-actualize your goals.
  • Compassion Focused Therapy: focuses on the importance of self-compassion in navigating self-esteem, depression, and emotional regulation.
  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy: is a more structured approach that implements mindfulness, safe ways to manage intense emotions, and skills for effectively communicating with others when distressed.
  • Exposure-Response Prevention: is the gold standard for treating OCD related disorders. Through ERP we will go through phases of exposure that will help decrease your experience with anxiety by reducing current response patterns and demonstrating to yourself that- a thought is just a thought.
  • Grief Therapy: if you have experienced a loss, you need care that truly honors and helps you move through it. During grief therapy we will no longer avoid this taboo topic. You will be encouraged to process it in a way that feels safe for you. My role is to guide you in understanding the different facets of your grief, without minimizing it, and support you in identidying ways to create joy in your life once again.
